The Indian diaspora consists of individuals who either trace their roots to India or are Indian citizens living abroad, whether temporarily or permanently.

In the initial phase, the Chalo India Portal is only open to OCI card holders.

Registrants must provide details such as Name, Gender, Email ID, OCI number (with proof), Place of OCI Issuance, and Country of residence.

Upon registration, the Indian diaspora can refer up to five non-Indian friends, providing mandatory details like Name as on Passport, email ID, and Country of Origin along with Passport Number.

The referral code is a unique code to be used by non-Indian friends for availing gratis e-tourist visa.

The referral codes are valid until March 31, 2025, however, the e-tourist Visa issued using the referral codes may be utilized for travel beyond 31st March 2025.

Yes, the initiative offers gratis e-tourist Visas on a first-come, first-served basis up to 100,000 applicants.
